Apple cider vinegar: not just for the kitchen

Apple cider vinegar offers a wide range of uses thanks to its flavor, antibacterial properties, and probiotic content.

…It won’t surprise you that apple cider vinegar’s main use is in the kitchen. You can use it to flavor marinades, add freshness to salads, or give sauces a tangy kick.

Our friend, great chef, and owner of the Vallmo restaurant, Martin Makovička, filmed a video recipe where he uses our Cousins vinegar to season a side salad for fish (video here)

…As mentioned, vinegar is a fermentation product and contains a number of probiotics. That’s why it can be used as a natural remedy—you can drink it diluted with water or use it to flavor lemonade. When used daily, it lowers blood sugar and helps with weight loss, stimulates the production of stomach acids to help digest heavy meals, and naturally improves digestion through its probiotic content.

…Apple cider vinegar also has its place in the world of cosmetics. Thanks to its antibacterial properties, it can be used as a natural skin toner, and if you have oily hair, try applying diluted vinegar to the roots. This hair wrap works wonders!

…Vinegar can be used for pickling and preserving food. Add a few tablespoons of vinegar along with salt to your jam, and you won’t need to use sugar as a preservative at all. To be safe, use the vinegar to disinfect the lid and the top of the jar as well.

…If you don’t like the taste of apple cider vinegar, you might be in the wrong place, but you can still use it for cleaning. It’s great for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and removing limescale.
